How do I prevent wear and color fading of textiles?

How do I prevent wear and color fading of textiles?

You give your most beloved fabrics the long life they deserve by taking good care of them. Washing as little as possible prevents wear and color fading. Enjoy your most beautiful items of clothing, bedding, tablecloths, decorative pillows, etc. for an extra long time.

Wear clothing caused by ironing and washing

With an iron, fibers of a fabric are crushed and wear out faster. By using a steam device, the fibers of a fabric are much less likely to damage.

Textiles also do not become more beautiful when you wash them (frequently). Research shows that   washing a lot   shortens the lifespan of your textile products. This has everything to do with soap, heat, lying around in the drum and contact with other clothing. The fibers of fabrics are affected, and fabrics become thinner and pill, colors fade and clothes lose their shape. The
CEO of Levi's explains that jeans should never be washed, because they are bad is for the fibers of the fabric, the color and for the fit. The CEO has even  not washed his own jeans in the washing machine for 10 years.

Less washing and ironing is better for the life of your textile

You should of course wash your underwear every day, but after that you can quickly stick to Stella McCartney's rule: “If you don't absolutely have to wash it, wash it then not.” It is very bad for most clothes if you throw them in the washing machine. The fabrics deform, the colors change, and the clothing wears out quickly. In addition, it is not at all necessary to always wash clothing/textiles. If a stain appears, you can of course also wash it out locally.

Use a handheld steamer

The specially designed pattern on the metal plate of the STEAM'R, in combination with the hot steam, ensures that the fibers of the textile are 'lifted' and not damaged. This process is comparable to the natural drying process in the (outdoor) air. As you can imagine, this is much less harsh (than using a hot, flat iron, for example) for the fibers of delicate fabrics. Using a hand steamer is also super fast! Believe us, it is really a godsend for your busy life to always be well-groomed, fresh and without wrinkled clothes in a very short time!
